Have you ever found before a feeling when you see someone at the gym,
grocery store or on the street and think 'I know it but I can not
remember the name!'.
Well it seems that such feelings occur more often in men than in women,
according to a new study conducted at McMaster University in Ontario,
Canada. Researchers found a small difference, but important in the
ability of women to remember their acquaintances.
On average women recognize faces seven acquaintances, while men will
recognize only five or six faces. While it does not seem like a big
difference, a small difference in facial recognition means that men are
in difficult situations facing society harder than women.
The question now is why women are better than men faces memory. This is a
question that has not involved the study to look at, but Heisz
researcher has a theory about this.
'Look, our movements are indeed linked with attention to things around,
so it may be associated with women who spend more attention to be more
engaged socially with people, "said Heisz.
Another theory is that women process visual information in a different
way. Idea explains that, in general, women tend to have superior
episodic memory, the ability to remember specific scenes from your past.
